Itinerary- Saigon Highlights with Unseen Vietnam Tours

In the morning you will be picked up by your personal tour guide and we will start the Saigon Highlights Tour.

First, we will visit the War Remnants Museum: formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant demonstration of the futility of the war. Some of the black-and-white photographs are particularly touching, with both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers killed during the conflict. The courtyard contains the spoils of war, including rusted jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military.

Afterwards you will visit the Reunification Palace: this is one of the most important buildings in the city. Here on April 30, 1975, the American war officially ended when the tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese army drove through the gates of the former residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.

Then you will visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the old post office. Built between 1877 and 1883, it is one of the best examples of classic French colonial architecture. Remarkably, every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. Its two 40-meter-high towers crowned with iron towers dominate the skyline of the city. The Alte Post is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the largest post office in the country.

At 1pm we will have lunch at a local restaurant.

Afterwards visit the Giac Lam Pagoda. This is Saigon's oldest pagoda, dating back to 1744 and one of the most beautiful in Vietnam. Inside, 98 columns and 113 statues and countless mini-Buddhas vie for your attention. Do not miss the amazing Tree of Wandering Souls, where people pray for their sick relatives by writing the names of their loved ones on paper and then attaching them to the tree.

China Town Cholon actually means "big market". A claim that is quite justified as the largest market in Vietnam. This district is home to over 400,000 Chinese and there are countless beautiful temples and pagodas to visit.

After that our tour takes us to the Ben Thanh market. This lively market is very popular with tourists because of its central location. Here you will find a wide selection of goods from fake Nike shoes to beautiful silk fabrics.
