Our tour starts at Hai Ba Trung Road.

Our journey begins with the exploration of the hidden passageways and winding lanes of Hoi An and a stop to photograph the famous Japanese bridge.

Exploring the landscape
We first cross the canal bridge near the night market and continue to the new metal bicycle bridge that connects Hoi An and its southern villages. Not far from the bridge, we visit a local family that Banh Dap produces by traditional methods. These small, hearty rice-flour peels are a popular breakfast in the country. We continue to one of the most beautiful villages of Hoi An and stop by a family to learn more about the tradition of the family bands. Our host is almost 90 and has fought in the American War. Next we will cycle along rice fields and vegetable farms along small canals and waterways to a boatbuilding site. Fishing is still the lifeblood of the province, and the production of these boats is amazing.

The roads narrow again to concrete paths and our final stops include a traditional mat weaving mill and a family distillery where rice wine has been made in the same way for generations.

Homemade lunch with Hoi An specialties is served in a local house. Then we cycle along the riverbank and climb the kayaks.

We paddle past water coconut plantations, shrimp farms and small fishing villages. On the way we make a stopover on one of the small islands and enjoy the view.

You arrive in the area of Cam Thanh in Hoi An, from where you bring our minivan back to the hotel.
