The DMZ was founded in April 1954 as a result of the Geneva conference that ended the war between Vietnam and the French authorities. In the past, it was a narrow strip of land that stretched from the Laos border to the coast, five kilometers on either side of the Ben Hai River, at about the 17th latitude. Despite its name, it was probably one of the most militarized and competitive areas of the entire war.

Rockpile Hill was used by Marines as an observation post to locate North Vietnamese troops who were trying to penetrate South Vietnam through the DMZ.

The village of Khe Sanh was the seat of government in the Huong Hoa district, an area with coffee plantations that was about 11 km from the Laotian border on Route 9, the northernmost crossroad in South Vietnam. The origin of the Combat Base was in August 1962 when an airfield was built outside the village in an old French fortress by special forces of the US Army.

How to book a private vehicle

As soon as we have received your booking request, we will send you the reservation with all details.

Is the price per car or per person? How about the admission price?

For private vehicles, the total price is per vehicle and not per person
The price is without tickets for the respective sights.

You can buy it yourself or our driver will help you with the purchase.

How can I find the driver at the airport?

If you have left the terminal, then go you please go straight ahead where the driver you will welcome you. The driver will hold a sign with your name in his hands.

What are the cancellation conditions?

You can cancel your private car booking free of charge up to 3 days before your arrival date.

50% of the total price will be charged if you cancel 48 hours before your planned travel date.

If you cancel 24 hours before your planned travel date, 100% will be charged.

Can the driver speak English?

As he is only the driver and not a tour guide, his English is limited. If you have a question on the go, he may not be able to answer it.

You should confirm your booking and book well in advance to ensure that we can reserve the best driver for your trip.

We recommend booking an English or German speaking guide for an additional fee if you want to learn more about the history of each place during your trip.

How do I pay ?

We are flexible:

Option 1: Deposit payment 25% - 40% with Paypal (without fee) and the final payment at the end of the trip to the driver with cash in VND.
You will receive the link to payment in your booking confirmation.

Option 2: Prepayment online with Visa / Master Card (3% fee). You will receive the link to payment in your booking confirmation.

Option 3: Prepay online by bank transfer to our account in Vietnam or Germany and the remaining payment at the end of the trip to the driver with cash in VND.
You will receive the link to payment in your booking confirmation.

Is this a private transfer or do we share the vehicle with other travelers?

This is the private transfer. You will not share it with other travelers. But you are welcome to team up with your friends to save your budget and share the cost. Usually the car with 4 seats is for 3 people and luggage, the car with 7 seats for a maximum of 5 people and small luggage and the car with 16 seats is for a maximum of 12 people and luggage.
