Phu Yen Vietnam, the land of the rising sun
Phu Yen, located on the south central coast, is the first spot on the Vietnamese mainland to greet the sun each morning.
The topography of the country is very diverse and consists of mountains, rivers, lagoons, bays and islands, as well as a variety of beautiful natural features for the traveler to explore.
What to experience here ?
The fascinating Vong Ro coast
The Vung Ro coast covers an area of 16.4 square kilometers, with beautiful beaches and the ocean on one side and forested mountains such as Deo Ca and Hon Ba, and the highest peak, Da Bia (Tombstone Mountain), on the opposite side.
It is located in Hoa Xuan Nam commune, Dong Hoa district, on the edge of Ca Pass. The approach, whether from the south or north, is very scenic. The coastal road offers magnificent unbroken views of the bay's blue waters, fishing villages, rugged pass, green mountains and white sandy beaches.
The pristine Hon Nua Island
Hon Nua Island - an island with an altitude of 105 meters above sea level is isolated on the sea border between Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen, a pristine and majestic island.
It is not difficult to get here to Hon Nua. You can go to Deo Ca either by car or by motorcycle and then contact the locals there to arrange a boat ride. There is only one house on Hon Nua Island.
Miles of partly untouched sandy beaches invite you to swim.
Sunrise at Dai Lanh Cape
A trip to Phu Yen is incomplete without the lighthouse at the Kap Dai Lanh, the easternmost point on the Vietnamese mainland, where the first sunlight hits the coast every morning. A 100-step spiral staircase leads to the top of the lighthouse and its fascinating view.
Visitors can spend the night at Mui Dien Lighthouse and, when the time comes, enjoy the view of the bay and the open sea right before their eyes. The feeling of standing on the top as the wind carries the smell of the ocean and caresses your skin and hair, and the spectacular scene unfolds is indescribable.
You need to call the lighthouse the day before and make arrangements. Tickets cost about VND10,000 ($0.43)
Phu Yen is rich in beautiful, mainly unspoiled landscapes, islands and beaches, each with its own charm.
Take stunning photos at Da Dia reef
Da Dia Reef (Ganh Da Dia) is a unique geological structure with black and yellow basalt rocks in all imaginable shapes, covering an area of more than one square kilometer along the seashore. From a distance it looks like a huge black beehive. It is located about 30 km north of Tuy Hoa City.
According to geologists, it was formed by volcanic eruptions millions of years ago. When the lava came into contact with the water, it cooled, contracted and fractured, forming vertical or horizontal columns before becoming polygonal rocks like the one we see today.
The reef is the perfect place to take photos of mysterious, extraordinary and unusual landscapes. It is also perfect for wedding photos.
Visit the historic Mang Lang Church
Built in 1892, the Gothic church is one of the oldest churches in Vietnam. The first book written in the current script of Vietnam is kept here.
The church was built by the French missionary Father Joseph Lacassagne. This place was the birthplace of Blessed Andrew of Phu Yen, who was beheaded in 1644. Today it is an important shrine, as Andrew was declared the patron saint of youth.
Walk across the Ong Cop Bridge
The bridge is about 800 meters long and 1.5 meters wide. This is the longest wooden bridge in Vietnam, which no visitor should miss when staying in Phu Yen.
The imposing Nhan Tower on the top of Nhan Mountain
On the top of Thap Dinh mountain, at sunrise, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the young town of Tuy Hoa, sparkling in the sunshine and illuminated by colorful lights at night.
Nhan Mountain is located on the north bank of the Da River in the middle of the Tuy Hoa Delta. It is covered with forests. From the top, 64 meters above sea level, there is a panoramic view of Tuy Hoa town with its lush rice fields and turquoise sea. Watching the sunset from the top is an unforgettable experience.
At the top of Nhan Mountain is Nhan Tower, an ancient Champa structure built around the end of the 11th century to the beginning of the 12th century. This is one of the many remnants of the Champa culture scattered throughout the central region.
The beaches of Bai Nom & Bai Tu Nham
After returning to Highway QL1A from the Xuan Thinh Peninsula, there is another hidden turnoff onto a small dirt road that leads to another amazingly beautiful area of empty, undeveloped coastline.
Bai Nom beach, near Hoa An village, is a great place for swimming, and no one else is here.
Vinh Hoa - A paradise retreat
Vinh Hoa Beach is located near the fishing village of the same name
