Cu Chi Tunnel

Visit of Cu Chi Tunnel, Located 60 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi is now considered a heroic place for its role during the Vietnam War. It is legendary for its network of tunnels spanning over 200 km and a very popular destination for Vietnamese and foreign visitors. The first impression of Saigon is reinforced on this day, by visiting a Taoist temple and a huge market for Vietnamese people for their daily lives. After the 5.5 hour trip, you return to Saigon, the rest of the afternoon is at your leisure. So you can still look around the city on your own and maybe visit a traditional restaurant to have dinner there and to end the day in a relaxed way.

The bustling metropolis of Saigon abounds with energy, activity and movement. Everywhere you look you can see the confluence of traditional and modern life. Start with a tour of the historic center, walk through Dong Khoi Street, once known as Rue Catinat. It is the main shopping street and the heart of old, colonial Saigon. You'll pass landmarks in classic European style, such as the ornate town hall (Hotel De Ville), the old opera house, and visit the neo-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral and the central post office. Afterwards, immerse yourself in modern history with a tour of the Reunification Palace. This 1960s-style building, the former independence palace of the South Vietnamese president, was stormed by tanks on April 30, 1975, marking the fall of South Vietnam. Continue to the War Museum, which documents the tortures of the long Vietnam War with numerous, original exhibits. Inside there are detailed photographic exhibits, and in the outdoor area a collection of tanks, planes and weapons. In the afternoon, continue to Cholon, the Chinese district of Saigon. Continue on to Thien Hau Pagoda, built by the Cantonese congregation and dedicated to the Heavenly Goddess. Finish off the tour at the central Ben Thanh Market in downtown Saigon, where merchants sell a huge range of goods and crafts that will suit all tastes.

Start at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). You will be picked up in the morning and the day trip to the western Mekong Delta begins. First, visit the small towns of Ben Luc and Tan An and take a boat trip on the mighty Mekong River - the lifeline of Indochina. Once there, where local craft products and sweets are made from coconuts, you can get an authentic insight into local life. Try one or the other sweets and maybe take something for the ones who stayed at home. Afterwards visit and lunch with a local family, where you can go fishing, visit the orchard, or just relax in a hammock. After saying goodbye to the family, you will continue with a sampan boat through the narrow canals, where you will have the opportunity for a walk along the shore. Back on land you will be driven back to your booked hotel to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), with the arrival here ends the day trip.
