The authentic Mekong Delta & the famous Cu Chi tunnels

At 7:30 in the morning your adventure begins, as you will be picked up from the hotel lobby and taken by car or minivan to the central pier. From there you will board a speedboat and head towards the Mekong Delta, admiring the breathtaking diversity of the Vietnamese landscape along the way. From gleaming skyscrapers and bustling commercial centers to peaceful country life along the riverbank, there is something for everyone.

As you glide through the waterways, enjoy a light breakfast of fresh tropical fruits and mineral water while taking in the natural beauty of the surroundings. Observe the traditional village homes and lush vegetation that line the tranquil waterway, and listen to your guide share fascinating insights into the daily lives of the riverside locals.

At 8:30 am you will arrive at a local riverside market selling seasonal fruits, vegetables, spices, seafood and other local specialties. Take some time to explore the bustling market before continuing your journey to the Mekong Delta.

At 9:30 am, board a sampan boat at a local pier for an excursion along a scenic canal lined with freshwater mangroves and water coconut palms. This is the perfect opportunity to relax and take in the sights and sounds of this picturesque region.

Hop on a bike at 10:00 am and cycle along a quiet dirt road to experience the idyllic rhythm of daily life in the Mekong Delta. Along the way, explore a small village with rustic houses and bridges, gently flowing canals, lush plants, bright flowers, vibrant crab farms and vast rice fields. Along the way, stop to visit a Cao Dai temple and discover its spectacular architecture while learning about one of Vietnam's most enigmatic religions.

At 11:00 am, continue your bike tour to visit an 18th century Buddhist pagoda whose unique architecture illustrates Vietnam's rich cultural heritage and spiritual traditions.

At 11:30 am, say goodbye to the Mekong Delta and take a speedboat to a picturesque village where you will enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a riverside restaurant.

At 13:30 you will take a speedboat to Cu Chi Tunnels (Ben Dinh). After a one hour and fifteen minute ride, you will reach the Cu Chi Tunnels area at 14:45. During a leisurely walk through the jungle you can see bomb craters, countless traps, secret entrances, combat bunkers, ventilation systems and constructed living areas.

The adventurous have the opportunity to fire an AK47, M16 or M60 with real bullets at the shooting range (at their own expense). You can also see how rice wine and rice paper (used for spring rolls) are made.

The most exciting part of the tour is the opportunity to crawl through a real underground tunnel and experience what it was like to be a Vietnamese communist soldier. However, if you suffer from claustrophobia or have any concerns, you can skip this part, as it is completely optional and makes up only a small part of the tour.

Afterwards, you can taste steamed tapioca roots, which were a staple food in Cu Chi during the war.

At 16:45 you will say goodbye to the Cu Chi Tunnels and board a speedboat back to Saigon. You will arrive back at the pier at 18:00 and be dropped off at your hotel.

Please note that the order of the trip can be changed for logistical reasons. You can either visit the Mekong Delta followed by the Cu Chi Tunnels or vice versa.

If you are unable to ride a bicycle, please let us know in advance so that we can arrange a suitable alternative for you (such as riding on the back of a scooter or other suitable transportation), for which additional charges may apply.
